Set up your Virtual Operator message by phone*

  • Login to your portal
  • Click on the Auto Attendant tab
  • Make sure “Enable auto attendant on this line” has been ticked
  • Write down what you want to say first – eg. “Welcome to Acme widgets. Please press 1 for sales, press 2 for accounts or press 3 for service. Thanks for calling”
  • Select “Click here to record your auto attendant message now”
  • You will be prompted to enter a phone number. A dialog box will open and the system will call you on the number you have entered. Just leave the dialog box open for now. The system will tell you when to start recording. Record your greeting and press # to save it then close the dialog box

Set up your Virtual Operator message by MP3 file upload**

  • Login to your portal
  • Click on the Auto Attendant tab
  • Make sure “Enable auto attendant on this line” has been ticked
  • Select “Click here to upload your own mp3 file to become your auto attendant greeting now” You then just need to browse your PC to where the MP3 file is and upload it. This can take a few minutes depending on the file size to load and to then be available. You can only have 1 file so the next time you do this you will need to delete the original file and then upload the new one.

*The recording options *22 and *23 are only available if you have a physical phone or pbx system registered to your number

**If you have more than one Voicecom number connected to the same Virtual Operator, this is the preferred method of recording greetings.
